Don began his lifelong career in construction while still in high school, when his father became ill and he went to work to help his mother support their family of nine. He started out working for a commercial painter, eventually starting his own paint company and employing upwards of thirty workers.
In 1985, Don decided to go for his dream. He passed his paint company on to his son and purchased a tract of land which he developed into residential lots and began his custom home building career. This was the first of four developments he created, building over 500 custom homes in IL & WI over the course of the next 20 years.
Although he wasn’t quite ready to retire, the 2008 real estate bubble was a force to be reckoned with. Having just completed his fourth development, he decided not to risk a new project at that time. He made the choice to move closer to family in OK and come to work for Ridgid in 2010, putting his construction expertise and management skills to work for us. Don’s ability to empathize with people, think on his feet, and treat people with fairness and respect makes him a valuable addition to Ridgid. His common sense, integrity and compassion make him a natural when overseeing production and working with our customers and multiple subcontractors.
Don is a classic car enthusiast. He enjoys car shows, relaxing, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
